About the position

DBN000145 – Finance Manager – Gauteng (Hybrid)

Job Purpose:
To manage and oversee all financial operations for the company.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. Professional qualification or experience in assurance will be beneficial
3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial or managerial accounting role
4. Strong understanding of Time Value of Money
5. Strong knowledge of South African tax and payroll regulations (EMP201, EMP501)
6. Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Sage, Pastel, SAP)
Required Technical Competencies & Experience:

  • Create and track cash flow projections.
  • Record and balance bank statements.
  • Conduct routine reconciliations with creditors.
  • Create and handle batches of monthly payments.
  • Oversee loan reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Keep the asset registration up to current and maintained.
  • Handle system-generated and monthly journals.
  • Make sure that all group VAT reconciliations and filings are accurate.
  • Create monthly payroll, submit EMP201s, and file EMP501 returns every two years.
  • Create thorough audit records for outside auditors.
  • Provide consolidated reporting to the Executive Committee and assist with the month-end close.
