About the position
Our Pretoria based client is looking for a CA(SA) for a Financial Manager for a 6 month contract.
Qualifications
- NQF Level 8
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
Experience
- Minimum five years post-articles
- Minimum three years in middle management position
- Public Sector experience
- Experience in Pastel Evolution and VIP Payroll is an advantage
Skills and knowledge
- GRAP Standards
- Tax Legislation
- PFMA, Treasury Regulations, PPPFA and other legislations applicable to a public entity
Functions
Full Financial Management Function including, but not limited to the following:
- Debtors, creditors, cashflow management, payroll management and asset management
- Review and sign off all financial reconciliations performed by subordinates on a monthly basis
- Assist with the development of strategies and policies
- Implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Assess existing processes, identify and implement improvements to strengthen the financial health of the entity
- Assist the CFO with strategic planning and budgets
- Provide accurate value adding financial management information
- Manage month end and year end closure processes, ensuring accuracy of Income Statement and Balance Sheet at both periods
- Preparation and submission of statutory requirements e.g. SARS
- Provide financial support for administrative functions in the entity
- Review quarterly reports for National Treasury and the Department
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with legislation and standards of GRAP
- Coordinate internal and external audits, and other stakeholders
- Costing of projects and sign off completed projects
- Manage service provider contract
- Manage the finance team, including all recruiting, team development, performance management and coaching
