The position of Finance Compliance Specialist is vacant. The Finance Compliance Specialist will report directly to the Finance Manager: Compliance and forms part of Finance Division of the Scheme based in Pretoria.
The total Annual Cost to Company between R 660 343 and R825 458, negotiable and based on skills and experience
The Finance Compliance Specialist will be required to deliver effective risk management, robust governance, ethical culture, effective debt management and ensure compliance with regulations to support the Finance Manager Compliance in executing the following functions:
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Propose updates to the management accounts as and when new guidelines are issued by CMS and SAICA or any other relevant bodies.
- Provide IFRS Updates and Training to the Finance Division.
- Monitor CMS Updates and Training to the Finance Division.
- Draft and formulate revisions to all finance related policies in line with the policy review schedule and work plan of the division.
- Review Finance Policy and SOP to ensure compliance with IFRS, CMS and best practice.
- Maintain Quarterly Compliance register for the Finance Division (Finance policies and SOPs).
- Benchmark finance related policies annually against best practice principles and recommend amendments for consideration.
- Assist in the preparation of AFS for the financial year with regards to technical compliance. (application of accounting standards to confirm compliance with IFRS, CMS guidelines and SAICA guide) in coordination with the Reporting subdivision Advise on finance related compliance matters monthly.
- Coordinate audit process.
- Provident commentary on all financial reports issued.
- Prepare complete and accurate standard operating procedures and internal control. documentation involving new activities and/or process changes as required.
- Prepare responses to all CMS circulars that require finance division actions and submit to FM - Compliance and SM - Finance _ for review and approval.
- Prepare and interrogate policy compliance and report quarterly to the FM: Compliance and SM: Finance for review and approval.
- Conduct monthly operational risk reviews of the finance division and report at FINCOM.
Qualification requirements are:
- Recently Qualified Chartered Accountant enabling theoretical interrogation of work according to the required standards.
- 2-3 years relevant working experience, with comprehensive knowledge of sound finance. control environment and compliance of finance operations.
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
