About the position

The Finance Administrator will provide essential support to the finance department by handling daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end reporting. This role ensures smooth financial operations and contributes to the overall efficiency of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cashbook: Process and reconcile bank statements.
  • Petty Cash: Manage, process, and reconcile petty cash transactions.
  • Suppliers: Process invoices and staff expense claims, manage purchase orders, and reconcile contractors' outstanding invoices.
  • Credit Card: Process and reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  • Petrol Card: Process and reconcile monthly petrol card statements.
  • Customers: Issue invoices, maintain proper filing, upload documents to relevant portals, and manage the debtors age analysis.
  • Vehicles: Maintain company vehicle logbooks, coordinate bookings and services, and ensure records are up to date.
  • Interdepartmental Liaison: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial records remain accurate.
  • Expense Analysis: Conduct analytical testing of monthly expenses to identify variances or irregularities.
  • Office Administration: Order office refreshments, stationery, and other supplies as needed.
  • Month-End Support: Assist the Finance Manager with month-end processes and perform ad-hoc duties when required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of financial principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bookkeeping qualification (or currently studying towards one).
  • Strong understanding of basic financial and accounting principles.

Office-based role.
