About the position

• Diploma / NQF6
• Higher Certificate / NQF5
• Specify: Formal qualification as a Structural Inspector (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector level 2, NDT - MP, PT, VT level 2 or equivalent).
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word & Excel.
• 5 years plus experience on welding inspection.
• Candidates must have a clear criminal record
• NDT qualification is required
• Must be a qualified welding inspector.
• Perform full structural inspections on maritime cranes, construction machinery, and related equipment according to OEM specifications and safety guidelines.
• Ensure that all structural components are in optimal condition, identifying potential risks or damage and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
• Collaborate with maintenance and technical teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Work closely with the Structural Department in the development of repair procedures, guidelines, and best practices for structural maintenance.
• Prepare detailed reports of inspections, noting any findings and actions taken, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
• Provide guidance and expertise on structural integrity to the field teams and support in the planning and execution of maintenance procedures.
• Conduct thorough assessments of welds, joints, bolts, and other critical structural elements.
• Assist in the development of inspection checklists and processes, ensuring they meet up-to-date regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and report any safety hazards immediately.
• Continuously improve inspection processes, recommending enhancements or changes based on industry trends and best practices.
• Demonstrate flexibility in responding to urgent or high-priority site needs country wide and cross border
• Assist with the preparation of repair proposals where required
