Well established company in Cape-Town seeks a Field Service Technician with experience on maritime cranes
Minimum Requirements
- Earthmoving Mechanic /Auto Electrician/ Millwright
- Preferably with a minimum of 3-5 years of Field Service, heavy hydraulics, auto electrical and mechanical fault finding on maritime / ship to shore / gantry cranes
- Valid drivers license
- Valid passport
Duties will include:
- Use expertise in electrical, electronic, mechanical, and basic hydraulic systems to evaluate, troubleshoot, and modify the operation of machinery and systems including electrical/electronic controls, hydraulic components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform fault diagnosis, calibration, repairs, and full overhauls on various types of port equipment, such as Ship-to-Shore (STS) Cranes, Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) Cranes, and Rail-Mounted Gantry (RMG) Cranes.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of maintenance tasks, repairs completed, and any issues encountered; regularly communicate equipment condition and performance updates to supervisory staff.
- Accurately complete required documentation including time logs, job reports, and expense forms, ensuring all entries are up to date and include customer verification when necessary.
- Ensure proper care, handling, and upkeep of company-owned tools, equipment, and machinery to preserve reliability and extend service life.
