About the position
POSITION PURPOSE
We are looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician with at least 2 years’ electrical/mechanical experience to install, service, maintain and repair electronic and electro-mechanical equipment. The successful candidate must have strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, be customer-focused and professional, and be willing to travel extensively, work overtime and provide after-hours support when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, service and maintain equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and repair equipment faults efficiently.
- Install equipment and train customers/operators.
- Provide on-site technical support across the Northern provinces and neighbouring countries.
- Provide telephone, email and remote technical support to customers.
- Respond promptly to customer queries and technical issues.
- Assist with equipment demonstrations and technical development.
- Support the sales team and identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships.
- Help customers maximise the value and performance of their equipment.
- Provide after-hours standby and on-site support when required.
- Maintain professional customer relationships and represent the company positively.
- Complete required administration and technical documentation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ electrical/mechanical experience.
- Computer literate – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
- Own reliable transport.
- Willing and able to travel locally and internationally.
- Willing to work overtime and after hours when required.
