About the position

Summary:
FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Location: Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS: 
- Qualified Red Seal.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Compressor & Pump experience is essential.

ROLE OVERVIEW: 

The Field Service and Sales Representative will manage customer sites for vacuum and overpressure equipment,
delivering technical solutions, ensuring equipment performance, and driving business growth by identifying new sales opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.
Minimum requirements:

  • Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering ND, or Millwright trade.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in end-user repairs or technical knowledge of vacuum pumps, blowers, water pumps, compressors, valves, or industrial equipment.
  • Sales experience, including achieving targets, cold calling, and growing customer accounts.
  • Hands-on technical skills for installation, repair, and on-site problem-solving of equipment.
  • Willingness to travel within Africa and hold a valid passport.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Communicate proficiently with customers verbally and via email daily.
  • Liaise with customers professionally and courteously.
  • Call on existing and new customers, maintaining relationships and growing the business with these customers.
  • Identify new prospects and cold call on potential customers.
  • Set and chase ambitious sales targets and generate new pump sales.
  • Grow field service, including procuring active service contracts.
  • Track previous services completed and encourage customers to service again with us.
  • Generate service repair sales for the Company's workshops.
  • Generate new pump sales, including spares, pumps, and systems.
  • Perform on-site problem-solving.
  • Install and repair vacuum pumps and systems on-site.
  • Develop and implement strategies with the sales team.
  • Complete required reports on time, including weekly and monthly reports.
  • Develop relationships with key role players, including technicians, engineers, maintenance managers, consultants, contractors, distributors, and end users.
  • Travel within Africa as required, holding a valid passport.
  • Provide accurate and consistent feedback to management.
