Job Overview:
A luxury hospitality group is seeking an experienced Facilities/Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage all maintenance-related functions across multiple sites. The role requires an efficient, solution-driven individual with a passion for exceptional service and a high degree of operational delivery. This position involves strategic planning, reporting, and people management.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)
- Tertiary qualification in Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field (beneficial)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Residency in Franschhoek or surrounding areas (advantageous)
- Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Facilities/Maintenance Manager role
- Experience in hotel or property maintenance (advantageous)
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong planning, process excellence, and service delivery skills
- Experience in CAPEX and operational budgeting
- Proven ability in preventative maintenance planning and execution
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and innovation
- Strong teamwork, cross-organizational collaboration, and leadership in building high-performance teams
- Experience in managing a large team
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, manage, and maintain all areas related to maintenance, ensuring operational requirements are met efficiently
- Plan, supervise, and execute maintenance and service schedules for hotel equipment and the vehicle fleet
- Collaborate with Hotel Managers, the Group Operational Manager, and Heads of Departments to resolve maintenance requests promptly, ensuring accurate record-keeping and feedback
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program that complies with safety legislation, warranties, and industry best practices
- Ensure the secure and safe usage of all equipment
- Manage, train, and develop staff to enhance skills and performance
- Ensure malfunctioning equipment is repaired with minimal downtime
- Maintain adequate stock levels of frequently used equipment, supplies, and relevant materials
- Manage inspection, stock control, and purchasing records
- Source competitive price quotes from reliable suppliers and establish a base of approved service providers
- Prepare annual maintenance budgets, including procurement of machinery and CAPEX items, maintaining materials, and managing labour costs
- Enforce and maintain health and safety standards across all operations
