About the position
Are you a skilled and driven Fabrication & Blasting Supervisor with a strong background in raw materials management, fabrication processes, and team supervision? A well-established leader in the mining and manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced professional to join their production team and take ownership of fabrication and blasting operations at their Gauteng-based facility.
The Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning and execution of fabrication and blasting activities
- Ensure accurate issuance, usage, and reconciliation of raw materials (including aluminium, MS plate, and Hardox)
- Implement systems to improve efficiency and reduce waste during production
- Supervise and develop a team of Shotblast and Paint Operators
- Conduct daily and weekly material stock counts and submit reports to management
- Analyse production data, monitor performance, and report on operator efficiency
- Collaborate with internal departments including production planning, toolroom, and supply chain
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
Minimum Requirements & Experience
- NQF Level 5/6 or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years’ experience of supervisory experience in a fabrication or production environment
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel & SAP
- Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, welding, cutting, and blasting processes
- Solid grasp of mechanical drawings and production planning
- Exposure to TQM, 5S, and continuous improvement practices (advantageous)
