About the position
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication & Blasting Supervisor to oversee raw materials management, stock control, and production efficiency in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with quality standards, optimize resource utilization, and lead a team of shotblast/paint operators.
Requirements:
- NQF Level 5/6 in Engineering or BTech Mechanical
- 3+ years in fabrication/industrial manufacturing (mining sector preferred)
- 2+ years in production planning/supervision and process flow optimization
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, and SAP (advantageous)
- Knowledge of welding, cutting processes, and TQM/5S methodologies
Key Responsibilities
- Implement systems to improve fabrication efficiency and productivity
- Monitor raw material usage (scrap rates, finished goods weight, rejects) and reconcile stock (Hardox, MS plate, aluminium)
- Issue raw materials to prevent production delays and maintain accurate inventory records
- Collate and verify daily production data (job cards, quality inspections)
- Track mould availability/effectiveness and adherence to trimming/packing schedules
- Submit weekly reports on material usage, operator performance, and waste (spew/off-cuts)
- Recruit, train, and supervise fabrication employees
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ policies (OHSA Section 14) and quality management systems
