About the position
Well-established company based on the East Rand seeks an External Sales Specialist from Industrial Instrumentation or Automation.
Requirements:
- Matric, National Diploma or N6
- Trade Test in Instrumentation and Automation
- 5–10 years’ experience in industrial instrumentation or automation
- 5–10 years’ experience in technical sales within an industrial environment
- Proven technical sales experience in industrial automation
- Knowledge of level, flow, pressure, temperature, analytical and process automation products and systems
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying new business opportunities.
- Develop sales plans, budgets and forecasts, and achieve sales targets.
- Conduct at least 12 customer visits per week and maintain accurate reports.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, sales opportunities and pipelines.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and promote the full product and service portfolio.
- Build customer relationships and develop account strategies.
- Identify and manage projects within the assigned territory.
- Monitor market trends, competitors and customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal sales, service, projects and marketing teams.
- Handle customer complaints, provide after-sales support and maintain product knowledge through ongoing training.
