You're a confident communicator with a natural flair for connecting with people. You may have just completed your degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a similar field and now you're eager to dive into the world of sales. You're a curious, enthusiastic learner who's proactive, organised, and ready to soak up technical knowledge and build strong client relationships. You're excited by the idea of combining your scientific background with a dynamic, client-facing role.
You'll support the commercial team by developing and maintaining relationships with both new and existing customers. Your week will be a mix of time in the office and travelling to client sites, helping to identify new business opportunities and offering technical support. You'll learn to price products, compile market insights, and contribute to sales strategies alongside a supportive manager. It's a hands-on learning role with plenty of variety and mentorship.
Our client is a dynamic, stable family owned and run business and is a leading supplier of ingredients and raw materials in South Africa. With an impressive international supplier list and a diverse, stable client base they are on a rapid path for growth. They're always looking at ways to diversify their product offering and this role is a direct response to that. Their team is young and the office is based in Rivonia. This role follows a hybrid work setup, with Mondays and Fridays based in the office, while Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are spent on the road meeting with customers.
A degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline is essential. No experience is required, just a strong desire to learn and succeed in a sales-focused environment. You'll need to be well-organised, tech-savvy (especially with MS Office), and have your own transport for client visits.
