What Youll Be Doing
As an External Sales Representative, youll take full ownership of your territory and be the driving force behind sales success:
Customer Relationship & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers and prospects.
- Deliver powerful product presentations, demos, and tailored solutions.
- Research leads, qualify prospects, and open new accounts to grow market share.
- Consistently generate sales through direct interaction, proposals, and negotiations.
Territory Management & Strategy
- Analyze your territorys potential and create a strategic customer value plan.
- Schedule and manage regular visits to high-impact clients.
- Maximize your return on time investment by prioritizing key opportunities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams (sales, logistics, technical, finance) to ensure smooth order execution and post-sales support.
- Expedite problem resolution and deliver outstanding customer service.
Market Insight & Reporting
- Stay updated with latest product innovations, competitor activity, and industry trends.
- Submit timely and accurate reports: forecasts, call logs, sales plans, and pipeline updates.
Sales Administration & Support
- Assist with quotations, machine settings, pricing approvals, and invoicing.
- Support junior sales reps, participate in trade shows, and champion our brand in the market.
Key Success Metrics
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and customer visit quotas.
- Ensure all admin (Rep Reports, Call Logs, Pipeline) is up to date.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and training certifications.
What You Bring
Required:
- Grade 12 and a relevant diploma or degree
- Proven sales or technical sales experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Drivers license and willingness to travel
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in industrial equipment, machinery, or technical sales
- CRM system proficiency (e.g., Sugar CRM)
- Knowledge of tools like Power BI, AutoCAD, Solidworks
