About the position
Our client is seeking a motivated and technically-minded External Sales professional to work collaboratively with customers, internal sales teams, product managers, project sales, engineers, and other stakeholders. The role focuses on servicing and growing existing business, generating new business opportunities, and achieving or exceeding monthly sales targets, while enhancing customer satisfaction. You will also work closely with external representatives in your area to identify cross-selling opportunities. The primary focus is on building a strong customer base and increasing sales turnover.

Qualifications:
- Matric (minimum)
- Strong computer literacy
- Previous external technical sales experience in the industrial sector (electrical experience advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ sales experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute customer meetings in advance using Sales Force (iBuddy), including visits to existing and new customers
- Provide technical solutions by understanding customer requirements and recommending appropriate products
- Suggest alternative products based on cost, availability, or specifications
- Increase sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, and add-on sales
- Educate customers on product features, benefits, and terminology to improve sales and satisfaction
- Stay informed on industry trends, local regulations, and product developments through training, trade shows, and updates from Germany
- Visit 6+ customers per day
- Record all visits, reports, and tasks in Sales Force
- Communicate changes in product demand to order management and accounts teams
- Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts
- Maintain proficiency in computer and office software
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Represent the company professionally to customers, vendors, and team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
