About the position

A well-established company in Germiston is seeking an External Sales Consultant from technical, plastic, packaging or manufacturing industry
Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • At least 5 years relevant sales experience (B2B) preferably in technical, manufacturing, plastic or packaging industry
  • Proven track record in external sales – demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
  • Sage experience advantageous 
  • Strong technical background or proven ability to understand and sell technical products
  • Experience in new business development, cold calling and prospecting


Duties 

  • Consistently meet and exceed sales objectives with a strong emphasis on increasing overall revenue.
  • Proactively seek out new business by identifying prospects, generating opportunities, and turning them into confirmed sales.
  • Execute plans aimed at growing product penetration within both current clients and new market segments.
  • Build and sustain a strong pipeline of opportunities, demonstrating a highly proactive and driven sales mindset.
  • Effectively showcase and explain technical product capabilities to customers, ensuring clear understanding of value and application.
  • Track and communicate sales results, including pipeline activity, conversion success, and progress against targets.
  • Work closely with internal departments to support smooth customer onboarding and ensure technical specifications are met.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of products and their applications, applying this knowledge in customer interactions.
  • Organise and maintain a structured schedule for customer engagements in line with company expectations.
  • Evaluate customer portfolios and market conditions to set strategic sales goals and action plans.
  • Understand client requirements and recommend suitable product solutions to address their needs.
  • Actively promote the company’s offerings to support business growth objectives.
  • Strengthen and nurture relationships with key accounts to ensure long-term value.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying additional opportunities for products or services.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and factors influencing market expansion.
  • Provide management with regular updates, including forecasts and progress reports.
  • Ensure products and services are delivered accurately and in accordance with agreed timelines and standards.
