About the position
A well-established company in Germiston is seeking an External Sales Consultant from technical, plastic, packaging or manufacturing industry
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- At least 5 years relevant sales experience (B2B) preferably in technical, manufacturing, plastic or packaging industry
- Proven track record in external sales – demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
- Sage experience advantageous
- Strong technical background or proven ability to understand and sell technical products
- Experience in new business development, cold calling and prospecting
Duties
- Consistently meet and exceed sales objectives with a strong emphasis on increasing overall revenue.
- Proactively seek out new business by identifying prospects, generating opportunities, and turning them into confirmed sales.
- Execute plans aimed at growing product penetration within both current clients and new market segments.
- Build and sustain a strong pipeline of opportunities, demonstrating a highly proactive and driven sales mindset.
- Effectively showcase and explain technical product capabilities to customers, ensuring clear understanding of value and application.
- Track and communicate sales results, including pipeline activity, conversion success, and progress against targets.
- Work closely with internal departments to support smooth customer onboarding and ensure technical specifications are met.
- Develop a thorough understanding of products and their applications, applying this knowledge in customer interactions.
- Organise and maintain a structured schedule for customer engagements in line with company expectations.
- Evaluate customer portfolios and market conditions to set strategic sales goals and action plans.
- Understand client requirements and recommend suitable product solutions to address their needs.
- Actively promote the company’s offerings to support business growth objectives.
- Strengthen and nurture relationships with key accounts to ensure long-term value.
- Grow existing accounts by identifying additional opportunities for products or services.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and factors influencing market expansion.
- Provide management with regular updates, including forecasts and progress reports.
- Ensure products and services are delivered accurately and in accordance with agreed timelines and standards.
