About the position
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing clientele and strategic partners, providing support, information and guidance.
- Visit strategic partners and existing clientele on a regular basis, ensuring that our service levels are met.
- Identify and visit commercial sites (Complexes, Business developments, Office parks, etc.) to set up meetings and present access control solutions to the relevant stakeholders.
- Draw and prepare sales reports from SAP.
- Provide structured and detailed feedback /call reports to the Branch Manager.
- Promote, plan and present training courses and product presentations, diligently.
- Give feedback on competitors, pricing, new products, marketing etc.
- Address product issues that arise with clientele, and ensure that queries are properly addressed and that feedback is given to the relevant parties.
- Ensure that you are up to date with new and existing products.
- Assist the technical department with an occasional site visit to assess a product failure or incorrect installation.
- Classify strategic partners using the company qualifying criteria
- Identify strategic partner activity to enable partner growth
- Assist with ad-hoc duties from time to time, such as stocktakes and deliveries.
- Strategic partner Activities include but not limited to:
- Financial management
- Human Resources
- Marketing and promotions
- Training
- Geographical area growth
- General business development
Please note the important functional skills:
- Proven experience in the sales environment (selling, negotiations, promotional activities)
- Technical orientation (electronic/mechanical)
- Computer literate (MS Office Suite) with some exposure to a recognised ERP system
- In possession of a valid drivers' licence and reliable vehicle
- Able to work overtime if and when required
Required experience and qualifications:
- A minimum of matric with a sound knowledge and/or understanding of both electronic or mechanical equipment-
- At least 2-3 years' experience in a technical sales environment with a proven track record- A Sound understanding of the electronic security environment/industry.
- Formal sales training will be advantageous
- A general understanding of the everyday running of a small to medium sized business
- Experience in SAP will be advantageous
