About the position

A well-known flavour company requires the above to be responsible for developing and executing the export sales strategy for flavour solutions across African markets. The role includes managing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, leading commercial negotiations, and ensuring sustainable growth and profitability across the region.
Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Technical qualification in food technology or related is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous export sales experience selling flavours into the food manufacturing industries is essential for the role.
  • Previous sales experience having called on customers in Africa is essential for the role.
  • Must have a proven track record of growing sales across African markets.
  • Strong business development and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing the export sales strategy for flavour solutions across African markets. The role includes managing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, leading commercial negotiations, and ensuring sustainable growth and profitability across the region.
  • Developing new business as well as managing existing customers and channel partners within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Developing key account plans, formulating strategies and ensuring effective implementation of these so as to achieve set sales targets and objectives.
  • Interpreting customer briefs and working closely with the technical and R&D teams to ensure that customers obtain tailored flavour solutions.
  • Providing technical support to customers on a variety of different products, as well as handling and resolving customer queries.
  • Managing all aspects of the product development processes and liaising with clients to ensure that their needs are met accordingly.
  • Analysing market trends to develop the company’s market and competitor intelligence.
  • Managing price increases and pricing strategies, revenue, volume, and gross profit.
  • Presenting reports and sales figures to senior management.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
