About the position

Are you a highly experienced back-end developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing scalable systems and getting into the detail when needed?


We’re looking for an Expert Back-End Developer to join a high-performing global technology environment, working on critical production solutions and modern cloud-based applications.


This is a role for someone who can design, build, troubleshoot, influence technical decisions and share their expertise with others.



What You’ll Be Working On


You’ll be part of a development team responsible for the ongoing development, enhancement and support of enterprise applications.


Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing robust Java-based back-end solutions.
  
• Building and maintaining microservices and API-driven applications.
  
• Developing RESTful web services and scalable integration solutions.
  
• Working with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks, including Angular and Node.js.
  
• Designing solutions using Azure Cloud and cloud-native technologies.
  
• Contributing to cloud architecture and infrastructure design.
  
• Working with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
  
• Developing and integrating APIs across multiple systems.
  
• Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to sprint planning, refinement and sizing.
  
• Engaging with end users and stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
  
• Translating complex requirements into practical technical solutions.
  
• Identifying technical risks and impediments and proactively driving them to resolution.
  
• Presenting proposed solutions to Product Owners and other stakeholders.
  
• Ensuring development work meets established quality, coding and testing standards.
  
• Supporting existing applications and contributing to DevOps and production support.
  
• Preparing technical and system documentation.
  
• Mentoring and coaching other developers and sharing technical knowledge across teams.

What We’re Looking For


You'll ideally have:

• An IT Degree or Diploma – advantageous.
  
• At least 8–10 years of relevant software development experience.
  
• Extensive experience implementing and monitoring software solutions.
  
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and back-end development.
  
• Strong experience with microservices and RESTful APIs.
  
• Experience designing and delivering solutions in Azure Cloud.
  
• Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  
• Experience with manual and/or automated testing.
  
• Experience working in Agile environments.
  
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure.
  
• The ability to operate at an expert level while still getting into the technical detail when required.
