About the position
Job Title: Minerals Resource Manager
Location: Zambia (potential assignments in other regions)
A prominent player in Zambia's mining sector is currently seeking an experienced Minerals Resourcing Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of work experience in both underground and surface mining operations to enhance their dynamic team. The ideal candidate, whether based locally in Zambia or as an expatriate in Africa, should possess a proven track record in successful project management, demonstrating expertise in addressing various mining challenges and a comprehensive understanding of Zambia's mining regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mineral resource evaluation and management.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the mining industry.
- Extensive knowledge of mining operations, with a focus on resource optimization.
- Proven experience in Zambia or as an expatriate, demonstrating adaptability to diverse work environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Resource Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive mineral resource assessments and provide strategic recommendations for optimal extraction.
- Operational Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance mining operations and resource utilization efficiency.
- Project Planning: Lead and contribute to the planning and execution of mineral resource projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with resource extraction, ensuring safe and sustainable practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with geologists, mining engineers, and other stakeholders to maximize the value of mineral resources.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports on mineral resource estimates, contributing to informed decision-making.
