About the position

Exciting Opportunity: Executive Director
Organisation: Occupational Health Systems Authority.
Location: Braamfontein
Duration: 5-year fixed-term contract

Job Summary:
- You will champion safer workplaces nationwide.
- You will drive strategic innovation in occupational health systems, research, and policy to transform worker protection standards.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop national occupational health surveillance systems
  • Lead research, training, and technical advisory services
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and international standards
  • Manage budgets, stakeholder partnerships, and crisis response
  • Build high-performing teams and promote evidence-based practices

What You Will Need:

  • Essential: MMed/FCPHM + HPCSA registration as Occupational/Public Health Medicine Specialist
  • Experience: 15+ years in OHS/public health (5+ years senior management)
  • Key Skills: Strategic planning, regulatory expertise, stakeholder negotiation, financial oversight
  • Advantageous: ILO/WHO guidelines knowledge, OHS legislation experience
