A premier hospitality property in Zanzibar is seeking a skilled and visionary Executive Chef to take the culinary experience to new heights. The successful candidate will bring a passion for food, leadership excellence, and a proven ability to deliver high-end dining in a lodge, resort, or luxury hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of kitchen operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation
- Create and deliver compelling, seasonal menus that reflect both global trends and local ingredients
- Supervise and develop a dedicated kitchen team to maintain consistent service standards
- Ensure exceptional hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organization practices
- Oversee food cost control, stock management, and supplier coordination
- Cater to a variety of dietary requirements and special requests with precision
- Inspire a culture of excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement in the kitchen
Qualifications and Experience
- Culinary certification or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Executive or Head Chef in an upscale lodge, resort, or boutique hotel
- Extensive knowledge of international cuisines, food trends, and guest dietary needs
- Proven leadership and kitchen management skills in a high-performance environment
- Financial literacy in food costing, ordering, and stock control
- Commitment to sustainability and high-impact guest dining experiences
