About the position

Freight Forwarding Client on the East Rand in need of an Estimator,  providing support by compiling estimates on all modes of transport for management, and operational staff.
Job Function:
- Request and maintain a database of all relevant negotiated rates.
- Reviews information received for correctness to enable accurate estimates to be completed.
- Ensure all quotes are in writing and filed appropriately.
- Compiles estimates on all modes of transport.
- Provides accurate estimates and charges in accordance with agreed rates.
- Acknowledge requests to clients within 1 hour of receiving.
- Provides assistance to the sales team with RFQs and completion of Tenders.
- Consult with the Department Manager for approval prior to submitting estimates to clients.
- Follows up with clients regarding cost estimates and services as required.
- Refers all leads to the Sales Director for action by the sales team.
- Actively participate in sales discussions when required.
- Contacts clients when the need arises and handles remote interactions with customers.
- Compiles reports, statistics and general administration as required.
