About the position
Hire Resolve's client, a reputable and well-established civil engineering contractor based in Cape Town with a strong focus on infrastructure and bulk earthworks projects, is currently seeking a highly motivated Estimator to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a genuine passion for estimating.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects using CCS (Candy) estimating software.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather project insights and ensure cost accuracy.
- Conduct take-offs and compile BOQs.
- Identify cost risks and provide recommendations to reduce costs.
- Assist in tender submissions and ensure all requirements are met within tight deadlines.
Requirements- 3 to 4 years of experience using CCS (Candy) in a civil estimating role.
- A few years of on-site civil engineering experience (preferably in bulk earthworks or infrastructure projects).
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- A genuine passion for estimating and contributing to the financial success of civil projects.
