DBN000280 – Estate Manager - Randburg
Purpose of the job:
Above all, the manager's primary duty is to ensure the security of the estate, with the administration of eight employees—mostly gardeners—and an office manager coming in second. The Estate's budget, which is overseen by the Financial Director (FD), comes in third.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a similar Estate Manager, Facilities Manager, or General Manager role is required.
- Experience in a residential estate, homeowners’ association, or sectional title environment is strongly preferred.
- Matric (Grade 12) is the minimum requirement.
- A relevant post-matric qualification in facilities management, property management, or a related field is preferred.
- Sectional Title Knowledge
- A valid Code B or Code C driver’s licence is required.
Technical Competencies & Experience:
- Ensuring the estate's security is adequate, which includes, among other things, communicating with security companies, keeping an eye on reports, maintaining the electric fence, etc.
- Typically, common assets (such cars, lawnmowers, workshop tools, etc.) are serviced, maintained, repaired, replaced, improved, and acquired.
- Provide a productive and healthy workplace for the workers.
- Recruit, appoint, train, discipline, and retain qualified team members in their roles, subject to board approval.
- For the sake of continuity:
- Oversee employee leave and timesheets.
- Oversee interactions with residents
- Effectively lead a group of subordinates by making sure that all deadlines are fulfilled on time. 6. Contribute to the FD's creation of the company strategy and annual budget.
7. Take proactive measures to prevent spending from going over budget.
8. Aid in the planning of reserve funds.
9. Report to the Directors' Board.
10. Participate in monthly board meetings and present an update or report from the estate manager.
