About the position
Respected multidisciplinary consultancy in Durban is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 5 + years experience in contamination risk and comprehensive expertise in environmental assessment, data analysis and remediation strategies. Adept in managing all phases of project lifecycles and financial performance, as well as cultivating strong client relationships.
Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science or equivalent
- 5 or more years experience in the environmental sector
- Experienced in contamination risk
- Professional Registration with SACNASP or similar
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide team leadership and oversight for the contamination management section
- Perform detailed on-site assessments and conduct comprehensive data analysis to evaluate environmental conditions and inform remediation strategies
- Manage all aspects of project life cycles, from initial planning and execution to final reporting and closure.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, clients and key stakeholders to ensure project compliance and success
- Provide guidance and quality assurance by reviewing the work and reports of junior colleagues
- Oversee the implementation and management of ISO and HSE systems to ensure a safe and compliant working environment
