Enterprise Delivery Systems Architect
Role Purpose
The Enterprise Delivery Systems Architect will be responsible for leading the architectural design, governance, and migration strategy for the organosation's enterprise delivery ecosystem, with a strong focus on migrating and consolidating delivery management capability into Targetprocess.
This role is critical to ensuring the structural integrity of the delivery ecosystem supporting core IT, Digital Commerce, Media, Rewards, FinTech, and related technology domains across Africa’s largest retail technology estate.
The successful candidate will define how delivery teams, portfolios, programmes, value streams, reporting structures, governance models, and executive visibility are enabled through Targetprocess and its integration with the broader enterprise tooling landscape.
The role requires a senior architect who can operate across enterprise agile delivery, platform migration, delivery telemetry, reporting integrity, governance design, and cross-platform integration architecture.
 
Key Responsibilities
Targetprocess Migration Strategy and Architecture

• 
  Lead the enterprise architecture and migration strategy for moving delivery management capability into Targetprocess.
  
• 
  Assess the current delivery tooling landscape, including Jira Data Center, Jira Cloud Enterprise, Targetprocess, and related reporting and governance platforms.
  
• 
  Define the future-state Targetprocess operating model across teams, programmes, portfolios, value streams, and executive reporting layers.
  
• 
  Design migration principles, data structures, hierarchy models, workflows, governance rules, and reporting frameworks for Targetprocess.
  
• 
  Ensure the Targetprocess migration supports scaled agile delivery, portfolio visibility, delivery traceability, and executive decision-making.
  
• 
  Partner with delivery, product, portfolio, engineering, architecture, governance, and executive stakeholders to ensure the migration is practical, scalable, and aligned to business outcomes.
  
• 
  Identify migration risks, dependencies, data quality issues, adoption challenges, reporting gaps, and integration requirements.
  
• 
  Ensure that the migration to Targetprocess reduces delivery friction rather than creating additional administrative burden for teams.
  

• 
  Own and evolve the enterprise delivery systems architecture across the organisation's technology delivery estate.
  
• 
  Ensure delivery platforms support a complex scaled agile environment across 230+ delivery teams and more than 1,600 stakeholders.
  
• 
  Define the structural design of delivery tooling across team execution, portfolio governance, value stream visibility, and executive reporting.
  
• 
  Create alignment between operating model, tooling architecture, delivery taxonomy, reporting structures, and governance requirements.
  
• 
  Ensure the enterprise delivery ecosystem supports visibility across core IT, Digital Commerce, Media, Rewards, FinTech, and related business domains.
  
• 
  Maintain architectural integrity across complex delivery systems while preserving team autonomy.
  
• 
  Provide architectural direction on how Targetprocess should become the central platform for enterprise delivery visibility and governance.

  Define how Jira Data Center, Jira Cloud Enterprise, and Targetprocess will coexist during transition and migration phases.
  
• 
  Support the strategy for migrating from Jira-based delivery structures into Targetprocess-enabled portfolio and enterprise delivery models.
  
• 
  Assess current Jira configurations, workflows, data models, issue hierarchies, boards, reporting structures, and integrations.
  
• 
  Determine what delivery information should remain in Jira versus what should be governed, visualised, or managed through Targetprocess.
  
• 
  Design traceability between Jira execution-level data and Targetprocess portfolio, programme, value stream, and executive-level views.
  
• 
  Ensure data integrity, reporting consistency, and governance visibility across Jira and Targetprocess ecosystems.
  
• 
  Support the Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud Enterprise migration strategy where relevant, ensuring alignment with the broader Targetprocess roadmap.
  
• 
  Define integration and synchronisation patterns between Jira and Targetprocess to enable accurate delivery telemetry and executive reporting.
  

• 
  Design Targetprocess-based governance and reporting frameworks across 230+ delivery teams and 1,600+ stakeholders.
  
• 
  Define how delivery data should be structured, classified, governed, and reported through Targetprocess.
  
• 
  Establish reporting integrity frameworks to ensure executive dashboards are accurate, traceable, consistent, and trusted.
  
• 
  Create centralised visibility across delivery health, flow, throughput, dependencies, risks, milestones, incidents, vulnerabilities, defects, and compliance obligations.
  
• 
  Develop Targetprocess dashboarding and reporting principles that support different stakeholder levels, from delivery teams to executive leadership.
  
• 
  Ensure Targetprocess enables traceability from strategic objectives through portfolios, programmes, initiatives, epics, features, and team-level delivery.
  
• 
  Reduce manual reporting effort by improving automated data flows, standardised reporting structures, and consistent delivery telemetry.
  
• 
  Support enterprise leadership with meaningful insights into delivery confidence, bottlenecks, risk exposure, and business impact.
  

• 
  Align Targetprocess configuration and architecture to Shoprite’s scaled agile operating structures.
  
• 
  Design delivery hierarchies that support teams, tribes, portfolios, value streams, programmes, products, and enterprise initiatives.
  
• 
  Ensure Targetprocess reflects the real operating model of the organisation while enabling improved governance and visibility.
  
• 
  Support the evolution of agile delivery structures by ensuring tooling, workflows, reporting, and governance models are fit for purpose.
  
• 
  Enable enterprise-wide visibility without compromising the autonomy and speed of individual delivery teams.
  
• 
  Partner with agile leads, product leaders, engineering leaders, delivery managers, and portfolio stakeholders to ensure adoption and usability.
  
• 
  Help reduce duplication, inconsistent reporting, delivery friction, and governance gaps across the delivery landscape.
  

• 
  Design integration architecture across Targetprocess, Jira, and other enterprise delivery, risk, security, compliance, and reporting systems.
  
• 
  Define data flows, integration principles, APIs, synchronisation rules, ownership models, and quality controls.
  
• 
  Ensure integration between execution-level delivery tooling and enterprise-level governance platforms.
  
• 
  Support traceability across delivery work, vulnerabilities, incidents, defects, risks, compliance obligations, and executive reporting requirements.
  
• 
  Ensure integration architecture provides accurate, timely, and trusted delivery data.
  
• 
  Work with technical teams to validate integration feasibility, data mapping, platform constraints, and implementation sequencing.
  
• 
  Ensure the broader delivery ecosystem remains scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned to enterprise architecture principles.
  

• 
  Design Targetprocess-enabled visibility for vulnerabilities, incidents, defects, compliance obligations, audit findings, and delivery risks.
  
• 
  Ensure governance models provide the right level of visibility without creating unnecessary process overhead.
  
• 
  Support traceability between delivery execution, operational risk, security exposure, compliance requirements, and business outcomes.
  
• 
  Partner with security, risk, compliance, operations, engineering, product, and delivery leadership to strengthen enterprise oversight.
  
• 
  Improve reporting transparency across risk and compliance obligations while maintaining practical delivery workflows.
  
• 
  Enable leadership to identify delivery risk, dependency risk, operational exposure, and compliance concerns early.
  

• 
  Engage with senior technology leaders, enterprise architects, delivery executives, portfolio leads, product teams, engineering teams, agile leaders, governance forums, and operational stakeholders.
  
• 
  Translate complex Targetprocess migration and delivery architecture decisions into clear recommendations for executive audiences.
  
• 
  Facilitate alignment across multiple domains, teams, platforms, and stakeholder groups.
  
• 
  Act as a trusted advisor on Targetprocess migration, delivery systems architecture, reporting integrity, tooling governance, and scaled agile enablement.
  
• 
  Support adoption by ensuring Targetprocess structures are intuitive, practical, and aligned to how teams actually deliver.
  
• 
  Influence decision-making across a large and complex stakeholder landscape.
  

• 
  Significant experience in enterprise delivery systems architecture, agile tooling architecture, delivery governance, or scaled agile transformation.
  
• 
  Strong experience with Targetprocess in a large enterprise environment.
  
• 
  Proven experience designing or implementing Targetprocess structures across portfolios, value streams, programmes, products, teams, and executive reporting layers.
  
• 
  Experience migrating, integrating, or consolidating delivery management platforms into Targetprocess.
  
• 
  Strong experience with Jira at enterprise scale, ideally including Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud Enterprise.
  
• 
  Experience defining coexistence, migration, or integration strategies between Jira and Targetprocess.
  
• 
  Strong understanding of scaled agile delivery models and enterprise agile operating structures.
  
• 
  Experience designing delivery taxonomy, hierarchy models, workflow structures, governance rules, reporting models, and traceability frameworks.
  
• 
  Strong experience with executive reporting, delivery dashboards, delivery telemetry, governance visibility, and data integrity frameworks.
  
• 
  Experience designing cross-platform integrations across delivery, portfolio, reporting, risk, security, compliance, and operational systems.
  
• 
  Exposure to vulnerability, incident, defect, compliance, and risk visibility within a technology delivery environment.
  
• 
  Experience working across large numbers of teams, stakeholders, platforms, and business domains.
  
• 
  Retail, eCommerce, Digital Commerce, FinTech, Rewards, Media, or large-scale platform delivery experience would be advantageous.
