We are looking for a Enterprise Data Steward to join our financial services client based in Sandton for a 12-months contract role.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Enterprise Data Steward – Client Data to join our Enterprise Data Management team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and proper governance of client data across our systems and business units. You will play a key role in driving data standards, compliance, and enhancements to support critical business functions and decision-making.
What you will be doing:
- Own and manage the client data domain, ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
- Define and enforce data quality standards, policies, and best practices across client data sets.
- Collaborate with data owners, business units, and IT teams to resolve data issues, improve data quality, and establish strong data stewardship processes.
- Monitor data quality metrics and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
- Support regulatory and compliance requirements by ensuring accurate and auditable client data.
- Document metadata, data definitions, lineage, and business rules related to client data.
- Participate in data-related projects and initiatives, offering stewardship oversight and subject matter expertise.
- Promote a culture of accountability and ownership regarding data quality and integrity.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or data management.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, including data quality, metadata, and master data management.
- Experience working with client data in a financial services or regulated environment is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams.
