About the position
Job Purpose:
To actively manage and maintain the quality, integrity, and trustworthiness of client data across the organisation by applying data governance standards, stewardship principles, and compliance requirements. This role ensures that client data is complete, accurate, and accessible to support business processes and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor data governance practices to ensure the integrity and accuracy of client data.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to define and maintain client data standards, definitions, and quality rules.
- Identify, analyse, and resolve client data issues; ensure root causes are addressed to prevent recurrence.
- Support data quality initiatives by performing profiling, monitoring, and remediation of client data sets.
- Assist in the implementation of data management tools and processes that support master data, reference data, and metadata.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies for client data (e.g., POPIA).
- Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for client data issues, providing guidance and support across business units.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the data glossary and data dictionaries related to client data.
Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
Experience Required:
- 5–7 years of experience in data management, preferably within a financial services or highly regulated environment.
- Proven experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data quality roles, with a focus on client or customer data.
