Title of the Job: Enrolled Nurse
Department: Clinic Department
Experience Requirements
- Must have experience in gerontology/geriatrics and the ageing process.
- Experience with nursing care plans, writing progress reports, and nursing assessments for the aged, including the physically and/or mentally frail.
- The incumbent should have a person-centred or holistic approach to care.
Educational Requirements
- Must have Enrolled Nurse (EN) qualification with valid SANC registration.
Human Relations Requirements
- Must be positive and proactive in caring for the aged.
- Dedicated and committed to identifying needs and providing nursing care.
- Must be observant, enthusiastic, patient, empathetic, and able to understand client limitations.
Job Knowledge Requirements
- Competent in:
- Nursing assessments.
- Design and implementation of nursing care plans.
- Coordination of activities of daily living related to care needs.
- Scheduling activities and resources and delivering services to residents.
- Diagnosis and, within legal constraints, treatment of illnesses.
- Medication management and control.
- Computer proficiency is essential
Responsibility Requirements
- Management and control of medication in a proper, legal, and safe manner.
- Physical assessment of residents.
- Promotion and maintenance of safety.
- Open communication.
- Record-keeping and administration.
- Staff supervision and performance.
- Maintenance of professional nursing processes and procedures.
