Engineering production planner

About the position

A well-established company based in the East rand is seeking a Engineering Production Planner to plan, schedule and coordinate workshop activities.
Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Qualification in Production Planning, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering or similar (advantageous).
• 3–5 years' production planning experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with job cards, work orders and production scheduling.
• Strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
• Issue and manage job cards and work orders.
• Monitor production progress and update schedules as required.
• Allocate work according to workshop capacity and priorities.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Stores to ensure material availability.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and identify material shortages.
• Ensure drawings, specifications and job documentation are available before work commences.
• Track job progress and ensure completed work is submitted for quality inspection and close-out.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
