About the position
Our client, a leading Chemical Manufacturing company based in Jacobs, is looking to fill the position of Engineering and Maintenance Manager.
Purpose of the Role:
- Supervising, co-ordinating and deploying a team of artisans responsible for the maintenance of plant and buildings, etc. and making recommendations for improvement to machinery, equipment maintenance, modifications and replacement.
- Preparing the company's maintenance budget in terms of preparing an annual preventative maintenance forecast budget, estimating unplanned maintenance expenditure and controlling of monthly expenditure budgets.
- Assuming the role of legally appointed competent person of the company terms of Section 2 (1) of the General Machinery and Occupational Safety Act (Act 6 of 1983).
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and supervising a team of artisans.
- Manage maintenance budget.
- Maintain the asset register.
- Assist with projects.
- Ensure compliance with ISO policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- Relevant Degree/Diploma or BSC (Mechanical/Electrical). engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an engineering and maintenance manager.
Other:
- Good leadership qualities and people's skills.
- Computer literate.
- Technical ability and aptitude.
- Certificate of Competencies - Factories' (GCC) an advantage.
