About the position
Our client, a leading Manufacturing/Production company based in Umhlanga, is looking to fill the position of Employee Engagement Manager.
Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the HR Director, the successful incumbent will be responsible for driving organizational effectiveness by leading organisational development initiatives, managing performance and succession processes, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and legislation, with key focus on talent development and retention across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Development & Design:
- Support implementation of approved structures across departments.
- Ensure alignment of job descriptions, job grading, and reporting lines.
Performance Management & Succession Planning:
- Oversee performance evaluation process aligned with corporate policies.
- Lead succession planning, talent mapping, and retention strategies.
- Guideline managers in managing employee performance and development.
Skills Development & Training:
- Conduct training needs analysis and develop annual training plans.
- Coordinate implementation of internal and external training initiatives.
- Submit WSP and ATR to SETAs and ensure study assistance compliance.
Policy Development & Compliance:
- Participate in the development and review of HR policies and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with BCEA, SDA, EE and other relevant legislation.
Employee Integration & Transformation:
- Manage onboarding and integration processes for new employees.
- Lead initiatives related to culture, climate surveys and engagement.
- Participate in change management and transformation programs.
People Management:
- Lead and develop the OD function, including recruitment, training and performance management.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Compile HR reports and analyse KPIs to support decision-making.
- Contribute to HR projects that promote process improvement and service optimization.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric/Grade 12
- Degree and/or Master's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development, or a related field. (Required)
- At least 5 years' experience in Organisational Development, including supervisory experience.
- Industrial Psychologist preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office, with strong focus on PowerPoint and Excel.
- Driver's licence.
Core Competencies:
- Deep understanding of OD practices, performance management, and talent development.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labour law, and regulatory compliance.
