Embedded Systems Engineer

About the position

Embedded systems design and development role focused on taking embedded products from concept through to volume production, including hardware bring-up, certification and field deployment.

Experience:

• 6-8 years' post-graduate experience in embedded systems design and development.
• At least 3 years in a senior, lead or architecture capacity.
• Demonstrable involvement in taking at least two embedded products from concept to volume production.
• Currently hands-on in embedded C or C++.
• Not suitable for candidates who have moved fully into management or specification-only work.

Key Requirements

• Embedded C or C++ hands-on capability.
• Embedded systems design and development experience.
• Experience taking at least two embedded products from concept to volume production.
• Hardware bring-up, certification and field deployment experience.
• Senior, lead or architecture experience.
• South African citizenship required; foreign nationals will not be accepted.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Clear criminal and credit record; verification required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for vehicle testing, supplier and certification engagements.
• Preference for Employment Equity (EE) candidates.
• Candidates will undergo a screening call prior to interview.
