About the position

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all electronic control systems.
• Maintain and improve the rectifiers' reliability in the electro plating department.
• Install and change hardware and software on electronic control systems.
• Analyse, fault-find and repair all PLC controlled equipment.
• Analyse PLC programs to resolve errors and determine root causes on new and existing systems.
• Compile control panel wiring and machine wiring diagrams.
• Document repetitive breakdowns and ensure timely sign off of job cards.
• Participate in CAPEX projects.
• Compliance with SHE policies and the Non Negotiables in order to achieve a safe working environment.
• Perform callout and standby duties in order to ensure business continuity.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric
• N6, T3 or S4 with a relevant Electrical Trade Test Certificate
• At least 5 years practical experience in a maintenance environment.
• At least 5 years Siemens S7 PLC Programming experience is required.
• TIA Portal experience would be an advantage
• Process Instrumentation experience and basic programming knowledge would be highly advantageous
