About the position

We are recruiting for a Head of Sales – Sub-Saharan Africa to lead regional sales strategy and execution across a wide portfolio of industrial solutions and services. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of process automation, coupled with the drive to lead teams, grow market share, and build enduring client relationships in complex, technical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the development and execution of regional sales strategies aligned with global objectives.
- Lead and coach a high-performing sales team across Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring sales excellence and target achievement.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across multiple industries, including power, water, oil & gas, and petrochemicals.
- Support key pursuits and oversee pricing, contract negotiation, and margin management.
- Strengthen and manage channel partner strategies and performance.
- Oversee marketing, tendering, and bid management processes to improve hit rate and efficiency.
- Maintain and deepen relationships with senior client stakeholders and industry decision-makers.
- Ensure team capability and performance through effective people development, coaching, and structure alignment.
Ideal Profile:
- Electrical or relevant engineering degree (Master’s or MBA is a strong advantage).
- 8–10+ years in industrial automation / systems sales, including strong exposure to the energy industries.
- Minimum 7 years in sales leadership, managing large, diverse teams (15+).
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive strategy and execution at a regional level.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Africa.
- Proven record in building and scaling high-impact sales organisations.
