About the position
Westfalia Fruit Estate situated in Goedgelegen, Tzaneen, has a permanentvacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Electrician.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment and fittings. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. May install or service all lights, pack line systems, cold rooms and electrical control systems, taking specific responsibility of industrial buildings, farms and management housing. The position involves the use of hands, power tools and electrical equipment.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Qualified Electrician with Three to five years' experience
- Valid driver's license
- Experienced in PLC programming and VSD would be beneficial
- Experienced on pumps (AODD, centrifugal, etc.), mechanical and electrical equipment
- Wireman's license would be beneficial
Knowledge:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge off and experience with compressed air, Cold-rooms, vacuum systems, pumps, fans, welding (TIC welding)
- Basic electrical and PLC knowledge
- Knowledge of Health & Safety Systems around tools, equipment, mechanical and electrical equipment, and installations
Skills:
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- Equipment maintenance - performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is required
- Troubleshooting/fault finding- determining causes of operating errors; recommend and implement solutions
