About the position

The purpose of the role is to provide a technical service in the Meter Management Department.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric qualification required.
  • Wireman license preferred
  • Certified Electrician Certificate.
  • Code 08 Driver License required.

DUTIES:
Inspect meters to address tampering

  • Perform site visits to identify possible meters that were tampered with.
  • Identify meters whose seals are broken.
  • Inspect the wiring of the meters.

Replace all faulty meters and new installations on the buildings

  • Replace all faulty meters as per request from the Operations Manager
  • Confirm the spec of the new meter before installation happens.
  • Install new meters as per request from the Operations Manager.

Handle metering queries timeously

  • Respond to all cases logged on MDA timeously.
  • Respond to tenant queries sent timeously.
  • Take photos of the meters as part of query management for record purposes.
  • Take readings of meters and submit to relevant stakeholders.

Ensure adequate stock levels of the meter management department’s requirements.

  • Inform the Team Leader of stock that is required.
  • Keep record of all stock used.
  • Save all documentation related to the stock of the meter management department on the serve

Attend to disconnections as requested by meter management department.

  • Attend to all job cards and requests related to disconnections.
  • Sign job cards after attending to disconnections.
