Electrician

About the position

Our client based in Maitland is seeking to employ an electrician on a 6 months contract(FMCG)
Qualification Required

• Matric; Trade test and N3 Certificate
• Served Apprenticeship and qualified with a Trade Test Certificate (Not Section 26 or 28).
• Wireman's license would be advantageous

Responsibilities
Fault finding and repairs

• Attend to electrical faults and breakdowns in the factory.
• Attend to electrical faults and breakdowns in admin buildings.
• Fault finding on electrical equipment.
• Fault finding on PLC's.
  Planned Maintenance
• Programming and fault finding on VSD's.
• Programming and fault finding on instrumentation and calibration.
• Fault finding on electrical machines on running processes.
• Analysing and investigating on re-current faults.
• Repairs must be carried quickly (first time right) and efficiently.
  Safety Regulations
• Ensure machine availability for production targets to be met.
• Incumbent must be pro-active and prevent breakdowns on his/her patrols and shows
  initiative to continuously improve equipment performance.
• Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment.
  Administration
• Any dangerous conditions must be made safe immediately.
• Product safety to be ensured at all times.
• To correct errors on drawings and update drawings.
• Complete the necessary job cards and motor checklist.
• Own reliable transport.
• Shift Work.
  Overtime
• Standby required from time to time.
• Skilled in problem solving and RCA.

Energy Saving

• Carry out visual inspections and sign the appropriate legal registers as per OHS act.

• Ability to communicate with different areas within the factory (Production, quality, finance,
• operational buyer, storekeeper, etc.), as well as teamwork oriented
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

• Coaching and mentoring of production staff on electrical equipment
  Skills & Competence Required
• A minimum of 5 years post trade test' experience in Mechanical field.
• Facilitation skills in leading team meetings
• Multi-skilled in all electrical disciplines, and specific instrument and electrical tasks,
  ideally trade tested in one or the other.
• In depth knowledge of maintenance practices.
• RCA - Root cause Analysis
