About the position

Postion Summary:
Inspect, maintain and repair all Electrical installations, Electrical Equipment and perform new installations or modifications to existing installations..

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily corrective and preventative maintenance activities as per Line Manager instructions by applying technical knowledge, skills and experience
• Perform fault finding all SARAO Electrical Lines and electrical components
• Fault finding problems using a range of testing devices and electrical drawings and provide corrective action
• Escalate problems falling beyond levels of expertise to line manager
• Suggest possible solutions drawing on technical knowledge, skills and experience
• Perform maintenance on standby generators
• Perform MV maintenance and repairs
• Perform HVAC Maintenance and Repairs
• Perform new electrical installations
• Keep adequate record of maintenance and repair works carried out on the Electrical Infrastructure

Minimum Qualification:

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / National Certificate / Vocational 4 /N3 N4 N5/ NQF 4

Minimum Experience:

• 3-3 years

• Electrical Trade Test Certificate3 years’ post qualification experience performing LV Electrical Maintenance and installations
• Valid Motor Vehicle License (Code C Advantageous)Computer Literate

Experience:

• Electrical Line MaintenanceElectrical InstallationsElectrical MaintenanceHVAC Maintenance Electrical Motors repair and maintain
• UPS Systems

Knowledge:
