About the position
Help our client build a stronger South Africa through Renewable Energy. Electrical Supervisor wanted on BESS site! Is this you? You are a proactive, level-headed leader with a strong sense of accountability and team spirit. Detail-oriented and highly organised, you naturally follow through and ensure nothing slips through the cracks. You communicate confidently across diverse stakeholder groups and bring a high level of energy, motivation and professionalism to site. Analytical, commercially aware and solutions-driven, you take pride in delivering quality work safely and on schedule. And, of course, the most important fact of them all: you love and understand what it means to be working on-site! What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) You'll take ownership of the electrical construction scope on a large-scale BESS project, overseeing the reticulation network, substation and grid works. Managing contractors, enforcing HSE and environmental compliance, and ensuring adherence to project schedules will be central to your role. You'll review technical documentation, method statements and drawings, oversee testing and commissioning activities, support milestone payments, and coordinate closely with engineers, Eskom representatives and other key stakeholders. From construction through to grid connection and COD, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering critical infrastructure. Where you'll be doing it Our client, a leading international IPP, is spearheading a battery energy storage project in the North West province featuring a state-of-the-art BESS with a capacity of 77MWp controlled by a virtual power plant controller. You will be joining the site for the final stage of commissioning/sequencing and switching for an 8-month fixed-term contract. What you'll need In order to be ready to take on the challenges of this role, you will need to have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the electrical site construction space with a minimum of 2 years in the renewable sector. Your experience in the final stages of commissioning large substations will be invaluable. Of course, you need to hold a BTech or BSc (Diploma minimum) in Electrical Engineering and be comfortable in your exposure to those fields over the years. Along with that, our client would like to see a thorough understanding of regulations, multiple project execution, and overall proactivity and intercultural competence. What you'll get Apart from an open door into the most sought-after energy space of the decade, you will be walking away with a comfortable salary at the end of each month including med/pens benefits and standard site benefits. R&R weekend is once a month from Thursday to Tuesday and travel to and from the site will be in your vehicle at own cost.
