About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of electrical contracting projects in Cape Town. This opportunity is ideal for a technically skilled professional with strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in managing electrical installations, site teams, budgets, and project timelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical project management within the contracting or construction industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and maintenance.
- Experience in electrical contracting, project planning, and cost management.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional registration or relevant trade certification will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project schedules and monitor progress against agreed deadlines.
- Supervise site teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and installation requirements.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, resources, and expenditure.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Prepare project reports, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and operational issues.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and to the required standards.
