About the position

POSITION REPORTS TO THE JOHANNESBURG BRANCH MANAGER
Purpose: Is responsible to carry out all necessary design/project functions and is to ensure that company products are correctly installed and commissioned and results are recorded on the test sheets in accordance with The company's SHEQ management system and SABS standards.

Responsibilities & Duties: Include but not limited to:

  • Read specification and do the design accordingly.
  • if necessary, discuss and extract information about a job from relevant people in-house or from the client.
  • Recording, control and maintenance of all necessary documentation, e.g. test reports, QCP's, etc.
  • Assist to control and maintain the test bay and all test equipment.
  • Punch list panels and installations for defects.
  • Liaise during manufacturing process with the Workshop Supervisor/Contracts Manager.
  • Co-ordinate and plan all commissioning functions with the Branch Manager/Workshop Supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat, safe and effective administration and working environment in workshop and on site.
  • Help testing on site and within workshop and completion of relevant ISO documentation if available.
  • Record in red and check modifications to electrical drawings for as-built documentation.
  • Check modification to electrical drawings for as-built documentation.
  • Ensure all necessary safety measures are in place before applying power, i.e. lock-out procedure, power connections are re-tightened and safety signs are in place.
  • Reject installation of poor workmanship and defects.
  • Raising of NCRs for all SHEQ related issues.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI's):

  • Compliance with ISO 9001:2005 QMS (construction policies and controls).
  • Testing and commissioning completed accurately including neat and accurate red-line drawings.
  • Accurate and adequate recording, controlling and maintaining of ISO 9001:2015 documents.
  • Accurate and working design according to Company specs/manual and SANS 10142.
  • Accurate and correct interpretation of client specs.

Min Qualification:
National Diploma Electrical Engineering (Light current or heavy current)
The engineer must be able to do electrical drawings on autocard or eplan and/or PLC programming
