Electrical Engineer
JOB PROFILE / LOCATION: A Permanent Professional / Specialist Level Role in the Engineering Sector based in Randfontein
REMUNERATION DATA: R45,000 - R85,000 CTC per month (negotiable based on experience)
JOB SUMMARY: My client is in search of a suitably qualified and experienced individual to take ownership of electrical design, project execution, and maintenance of water treatment plants and systems. The successful candidate will report to the Lead Electrical Engineer and play a key role in electrical engineering initiatives, manage budgets, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and provide technical leadership to junior engineers and site teams. Responsibilities will include: -
- Lead design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in water treatment plants.
- Develop and review detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system layouts.
- Design, implement, and optimize electrical automation, control, and instrumentation systems.
- Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution analysis, and system simulations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and client specifications.
- Manage budgets and procurement for electrical equipment and materials.
- Conduct troubleshooting, fault analysis, and technical problem-solving on-site and remotely.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, safe operating procedures, and manuals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, process, operations) to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover of electrical systems.
- Participate in plant optimization, predictive maintenance planning, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Attend client and internal project meetings, providing technical input and progress updates.
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
CRITERIA / REQUIREMENTS
- BEng / BTech / BSc Electrical / Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Completed)
- 4 - 8 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer in water treatment, mining, or industrial OEM environments
- Strong experience with electrical design, automation, control, and instrumentation systems
- Experience with project management, budgets, and compliance documentation
- Own vehicle with valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel and work underground when required
- South African citizen with valid SA ID
- Advanced computer skills: MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
