Postion Summary:
iThemba LABS is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a GMR2 legal appointment in terms of OSHA [URL Removed] of 1993.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform GMR2 functions as per legal requirements
• Operation of electrical systems and switchgear of high-voltage systems (11 kV)
• Maintenance of electrical power plants and large UPS systems up to 8 MVA
• Manage operational safety of all electrical systems
• Training and development of electrical trainees and apprentices
• Maintain all electrical repair & maintenance records, specifications of installed electrical equipment and electrical test reportsMinimum Qualification:
• Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7Minimum Experience:
• 5 years
• BEng /BTech in Electrical Engineering (NQF 7)
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) in Electrical EngineeringExperience:
• A minimum of 5 years' relevant working knowledge and experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution systems, up to and including 11 kV
• Large UPS (motor/generator set) experienceKnowledge:
• Computer literateExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to plan and work independently
