About the position
Engineering Consultancy in the mining industry require an Electrical Designer.
To be responsible for designing Electrical Medium-and Low-voltage systems, Control and Instrumentation systems, and field design, mainly for the mining industry
At least 10 years' relevant working experience with a proven track record in engineering design and AutoCAD operation.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, drawing standards, and regulations. (examples ANSI/ISA/ISO)
- Ability to work across disciplines
- AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical certification
- NDIP Electrical or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
- ETap skills highly advantageous
Duties :
- Review engineering team comments and markup for correct implementation.
- Develop detailed electrical distribution systems for low voltage, with limited medium voltage required. These include schematics and connection diagrams, Single-Line diagrams, earthing and lighting layouts, cable racking and route designs.
- Design instrumentation loop diagrams, termination diagrams, and control system architecture.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback.
- As-built drawing redlines review of existing electrical systems.
- Work closely with other Discipline Managers/Project Managers/ Engineering Managers and aspire to support and achieve the goals of the Company.
- Managing self-responsibility concerning time, attendance, and quality
