About the position

Position: Electrical Designer/Draftsman (Permanent)
Location: Alrode, Alberton (Engineering/Manufacturing Environment)
Work Schedule: 06:30 – 15:30 (Monday–Friday)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in electrical design/ drafting within engineering/ manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills:
    • MCC, PLC, DB design & manufacturing (advantageous)
    • Proficiency in Eplan & AutoCAD (non-negotiable)
    • Ability to develop electrical schematics, automation drawings, and layout designs
  • Strong administrative skills with adherence to project timelines
  • Knowledge of ECSA Code of Conduct and engineering standards
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed electrical designs using Eplan & AutoCAD, including MCC, PLC, DB, RIO, GA layouts, and network diagrams
  • Create and manage BOMs and project documentation
  • Assist in preliminary designs, proposals, and testing within the engineering department
  • Implement redlining during FAT, commissioning, and handover phases
  • Ensure compliance with ECSA guidelines and company quality/safety standards
  • Liaise with clients, procurement, and manufacturing teams to resolve design queries
