Electrical Design Engineer / Technologist - Building Services

About the position

Our client, a well-established consulting engineering firm, is seeking a qualified and bilingual Electrical Design Engineer or Technologist to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will support building services projects across various sectors, contributing to all stages from concept design through to construction supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• BTech or BEng in Electrical Engineering
• 2-3 years' experience in electrical building services design within a consulting engineering environment
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans (essential)
• Experience in compiling design documentation, specifications, and bills of quantities
• Strong understanding of SANS standards and building services codes
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience and aptitude with Revit modelling and BIM workflows will be a strong advantage

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Lead Engineer and design team in the development of building services projects
• Prepare detailed electrical designs, reports, and technical specifications
• Manage and supervise building services projects during construction
• Conduct site assessments and inspections
• Compile tender and contract documentation
• Liaise with clients, internal teams, and external professionals throughout the project lifecycle
• Participate in the preparation and delivery of Revit/BIM models and AutoCAD drawings
• Perform regular site inspections to monitor quality and resolve issues
