EHS Practitioner (FTC)– Durban South
We are recruiting for an experienced Environmental Health Safety Practitioner
based in the Durban South area.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Relevant safety certifications such as SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
- Approximately 3 – 5 years’ relevant SHEQ experience
- Must be available to start immediately.
- Mature, reliable, honest, and trustworthy.
- Clear criminal record.
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Must reside in or around the Durban South area.

Key Performance Areas:
- Execute Group and Business EHS strategy
- Influence business leadership and workforce on EHS matters
- Develop plan and Conduct EHS risk assessments
- Monitor and improve effectiveness of EHS related controls
- Provide assurance on SHE workplace and legal compliance
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis and facilitation of learning
- Maintain SHE Management systems (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 3000 Rail Safety)
- SHE performance monitoring and reporting
- Plan and monitor SHE training
- Manage SHE team performance and budget
- Monitor compliance to legal requirements (National Key Points Act, Disaster Management Act, Major Hazard Installation Regulations and the Rail Safety Act).
- Tenant audits and Inspections
- Critical Control verification for site Contractor management
- Standby Duty for the UIC as per the roster
