EEG Technician

About the position

Durban - We are seeking a friendly, energetic and professional EEG Technician with a positive outlook to join our client's busy medical practice in the Berea area.
A specialist doctor in the Berea area is seeking an EEG technician to join their growing practice and provide exceptional service, and professionalism to it's patients.

As an EEG technician you will be required to monitor EEG Machine tests

Responsibilities:

• Preparing patients and ensure they feel comfortable and relaxed
• Perform EEG procedures on patients as per physician orders.
• Prepare patients for EEG exams by explaining the procedure and ensuring their comfort.
• Calibrate and adjust EEG equipment to obtain optimal readings.
• Monitor patients during EEG procedures to ensure accurate data collection.
• Recognize and troubleshoot technical issues with EEG equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedure details, and test results.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to analyze EEG findings.
• Ensure proper sanitation and sterilization of EEG equipment and accessories.
• Educate patients and their families about EEG procedures and answer any questions they may have.
• Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in EEG technology and techniques.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Assist with other neurodiagnostic procedures as needed, such as nerve conduction studies or polysomnography.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 Years working experience.
• Proficient in MS Office Packages
• Previous experience in similar role
• Own Transport
• Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 7:30 - 17:00

Salary: Market Related & Negotiable on experience
